We have eaten at all the Chinese restaurants in Rapid City other cities as well, and the Golden Phoenix is absolutely the best one without a doubt!We have eaten here for many, many years and have never, ever experienced an unpleasant meal. We always look forward to either dining in or taking out. We we have out-of-town guests they usually want to dine there as well. In fact, typing this review makes me want to head that way now.Having grown up in and around San Francisco, Chinese food has always been a favorite and continues to be. We feel lucky the Golden Phoenix is here as well as the owner Jerry. He is a peach of a guy as well.
Been here multiple times. Food is always consistent and good. Service is solid. Decor and atmosphere need upgraded. If you are eating dinner then expect a family of 4 to run you roughly $40- $50. It is worth your time if you’re in the mood for Chinese food.
Bland, disappointing, and so few vegetarian options. Maybe great for meat eaters, butI’d rather make my own. The environment is sterile but pretty ‘sterotypical’. Not a place for dates, but a hole in the wall. I’ve heard rave reviews and know folks that swear by this place, but it seemed really not fresh and I was hugely disappointed.
