Discovered this gem while vacationing in Black Hills area. Ranks among the best pizzas I’ve had! Piesano Primo: great whole wheat crust loaded with chunks of fresh veggies and the right kind of pizza meats (hamburger, pepperoni, and Canadian bacon). Took a while but good, fresh food sometimes does. Good service, too.
I’ve looked all over rapid city for New York style pizza; my search is over. This place is great. Be warned though, with great food comes great waiting for said food… Or something like that.
Food is tasty. Fresh bread and sauces. Staff is friendly and attentive. Food is slow coming out the kitchen as others have mentioned. Quaint ristorante.
Our pizza was good, but the service was very poor. Even though restaurant not overly crowded, pizza took over 1.5 hrs to bring to table. Other tables were experiencing similar situations. Staff said new cooks in the kitchen, but I’m not sure this is true.

Visited again, and have visited quite a few times since my last review. Despite the food being amazing…the service is some of the worst I’ve experienced. Tonight we had our drinks ordered, and it took almost 15 minutes to get them. We ordered our food with our drinks and it still took over an hour to get our pizza. I understand being a stressed-out server when there is a no-show coworker…but MAN! It was definitely not busy enough in there to warrant that experience.The long wait for food is a hallmark of this place, so eat your appetizers at home before visiting. I would suggest that they seriously reconsider their kitchen-prep methods and their staff-training.02 Sep, 2012Tough Competition. It pains me to say it because I’m loyal to my favorite pizzeria…but the pizza I had tonight is in the running for the best I’ve ever had. I’m a simpleton – I had the build-your-own with mozzerella, swiss and pepperoni. Aaaaaaah. I also tasted the tomato bisque soup and it was awesome. Service was a little disjointed/slow, but the food was worth it.
Awesome pizza! And amazing side salads! Yum!
