Absolutely love this place. It has the diner feel. and service is always great. The shakes are amazing! Especially the smore. We’ve been back and have suggested it to friends.
I have been here a couple of times and the place was cool from the outside. It looked very retro and they justified it calling themselves a diner as it definitely looked and should be called a diner. Inside, it was much nicer than a diner would be in my opinion. It looked like a regular restaurant inside.First time I was here, I had the hot roast beef while my coworkers had Jambalaya. We all liked it okay and decided we should come here more often when in Sioux Falls. However, it’s a little out of the way for us and we never came back for awhile.Last time here, I went with another coworker (my boss) and thought I would give this place another try. We were in a different mind set than last time though. I was trying to not eat carb and my boss always eats a healthy diet. He went for the blackened salmon salad and I went for the chicken stir fry with extra veggies with no rice. His salmon was okay he said but it was tiny. The salad looked like a side house salad. It didn’t look like anything spectacular. I was a bit shocked looking at my meal as it was so puny. I asked for them to replace the rice with extra veggies buf if they did, they didn’t give much. It was also very very salty. The chicken also had a weird texture. I made the cardinal sin for an Asian person to order a stir fry at a diner. Looking around, the burgers, meatloaf, and hot sandwiches people around us ordered looked amazing. I came to a conclusion about this place – only come here for comfort food and diner food. If you’re trying to eat healthy, you may get disappointed. When we came in, there was an employee of the diner that was standing at the front counter. Though he saw us, he didn’t greet us. Another guy finally did and he was stellar. He was so nice and personable to a point my boss was telling me that we should recruit him. The guy that didn’t greet us turned out to be our server and he turned out to be exactly like the first impression he gave out. Anyway, it was an okay place and a bit hit or miss for me. I’ll give it a shot another time and get some good fatty burger, fries, and milkshake.
The wait staff was incredibly friendly, efficient, and accommodating. However, my food item was a little subpar. I got the classic eggs Benedict and the English muffin was big and soggy. However, I have had other times on the menu before and they have been better. It’s real hit or miss.
