A step up from Taco Bell still isn’t Mexican food.. In theory, a chain should be popular because it’s good, because it does what it does well and consistently. Five Guys or In-n-Out, for example, sticks out as to what good burger chains should be. A damn good, brilliantly prepared burger, done right again and again.Qdoba is no Five Guys, at best, they’re a somewhat elevated Taco Bell. This is American Mexican food, designed for middle-American culinary sensibilities. Sweet, salty, fatty and obscenely huge portions of uninspired, corporate, focus group developed, pseudo-Mexican food mark the Qdoba experience. Considering the other options for Mexican / Latin American in Sioux Falls (Jacky’s, Nikki’s, Inca, etc.), I can’t understand the attraction of a corporate, culinary dump like Qdoba.
