Overcooked shellfish. Every time I have eaten at Red Lobster I have been astounded by two things: the lengthy amount of time it takes to get your food, and how hard that food has sucked. If you have even a remote sense of how to cook shellfish or what appropriately cooked shellfish is supposed to taste like, this place will offend you grievously. It’s all overcooked sinfully. Chewy and dry except for the gobs of butter everything is drowned in. Scallops, hard and reduced to the size of dimes, chewy crab, chewy, funky shrimp.
It has been several years since I’ve been to a Red Lobster. I was actually surprised at the quality of the food. Sure, in Sioux Falls I have no illusion this is fresh off the ship each day, but for frozen, what I had was good. Service was crisp and attentive and portions were large but not over the top. All in all I give it a B-
