Neat place to catch happy hour. Two floors of seating area. Also has a billiard room to hang out. Thursday night is karaoke night. Very open space so it gets a bit loud.
Came here for lunch and the following day for brunch. Great atmosphere both times. I had the andouille hash for brunch which was fantastic. They open at 10 for brunch but I recommend getting here 30 mins early because there was already a huge line in the parking lot. Also the live bluegrass band during brunch was a huge plus. Will definitely come back
The atmosphere of the Sutler was very nice minus the sound level of the band. If you want to be able to have dinner and a conversation, go before 9. I got the shrimp and grits which I enjoyed, but I may be a little biased because I would never say shrimp was bad. I would go back, but probably just for drinks.
Hurkey. Awesome! !
Wow I have to say, I’m surprised to see mixed reviews on this place. It was one of the best meals I’ve had in Nashville. Hot nuggets were awesome for appetizer. Grilled cheese was not your ordinary grilled cheese my friends. The best thing we had was the brussel sprout hash – oh my goodness it was incredible and so unique! Mixed drinks were top notch. Some people mentioned the service was slow – our service was excellent but we did go on a night without live music so potentially that could affect how busy the servers get.
Food is pretty decent and atmosphere isn’t bad. The problem is that they might win the award for the worst service is Nashville. We were going to eat dinner, but it took over an hr to get two beers and an appetizer. One and done for this place.
Big Disappointment. This is the first review I have ever written. The service tonight at The Sutler in Melrose inspired me to come immediately home and convey our experience. I want to convey facts and let other readers form their own opinions. My wife and I made a reservation with The Sutler approximately a week in advance for an early dinner. The restaurants ambiance is fantastic. If you are looking for an authentic saloon atmosphere, you have found it immediately when you walk through the front door. Upon approaching the hostess stand, we notified the staff of two hostesses that we had a reservation for 5 p.m. What followed was an unfortunate display of bewilderment that played out in front of us. The 2nd hostess addressed with a welcome greeting of whats up when the initial staff member had questions about our reservation. The final decision of the staff was to seat us at a two top table between the other two parties in a totally empty dining room. The remainder of the evening proved disappointing with a subpar plate of Fried Pickles Bash (which was very different from the menu description), Bear Creek Brisket (which resembled Arbys roast beef covered with fries and gravy over soggy Texas Toast), and the Yes Dammit Burger (Which was served at room temperature). The conclusion of the evening was topped off by a dispute between our server and the kitchen staff about a comment about our below average food. Perhaps in the future, the staff will take notice to their open kitchen and overall layout and keep the banter about the patrons for a more private moment. For future diners, I hope you leave The Sutler less embarrassed and more satisfied.
