Only good BBQ in Nashville is in Brentwood. Not as good as its original but there really aren’t many to choose from in Nashville area.If you want really great BBQ drive to Memphis. Corky’s in Memphis was never in the top 10 but it’s ok and here in Brentwood it stands out like a somewhat large fish in a small pond. The service here is outstanding. The prices match the quality and quantity of food you buy.It does remind me a bit of Memphis food and that’s saying something. I buy enough Bbq here for a large family at the take out window about 4 to 6 times a year (twice in May!) The guys at the window are always great to work with and friendly. I always tip them well. A few times the ribs I bought were too fatty but that’s not the norm.Corky’s is part of some large Corp Chain and that explains why it’s not perfect but it’ll have to do between trips to TN’s better Blues and Bbq city Memphis.

Withdrawing my Like It. We’ve had occasion to dine on a lot of Corky’s recently and have been very disappointed in the quality of the food. First the good, the vinegar based slaw is good if you like that kind (and I do.) Also, the smoked turkey is moist with a good smoke flavor but not bitter. After that, their reason for being, the ribs, have become extremely lacking in any meat, mostly bones. And what meat there was (several racks were tried) was dry and chewy. Even though we didn’t have Memphis dry rub, they were extremely salty. Its as if the meat was smoked many days ago and then steamed warm and served. The potato salad had a lovely yellow color, but was also extremely over salted. Salt is cheap flavor, and that seems the route they are going. The catfish has a good cornmeal coating, but the fish part is so thin it’s lost in the coating. Good if it were hush puppies, bad if it’s supposed to be catfish. Their tarter sauce is mayo with cayenne. OK, but not special. the food should be much better (it sure seems it used to be) especially at their prices. Perhaps they’re concentrating on their lucrative internet and TV home shopping outlets and letting quality slide. Too bad, used to like them, but there are other options and we’ll take our business elsewhere.

Super Place. I know I’m supposed to get bar-b-que when I go to Corky’s, but I always order the catfish. All the food is really good, the service is fast & friendly. The only bad thing I can say about this place is that getting in and out of the parking lot is a pain in the butt. It’s located at a very busy interesection off of I65.

Great Neighborhood BBQ. To begin we are recent transplants from California so please take this with a grain of salt. We are not from the South and do not consider ourselves BBQ experts. My husband and I went to Corky’s for dinner on a Friday night. Our server was fantastic!! She was very attentive, refilled our drinks repeatedly and kept a close eye on us. I ordered a pulled pork sandwich, baked beans and potato salad. My husband had the pulled pork plate dinner. Both of us really like our meals!! We had bread pudding for desert and while I have had better it was still really good. Since moving to Franklin we have been going to Puckett’s for BBQ. Both my husband and I agree that this was just as good. We still prefer Puckett’s but would definitely come back to Corky’s!!!!

Good link in the chain. I stopped by passing though and was pleasantly suprised. Very good ribs and the sides were right on. I give Corky and 8 out of 10. For being a chain you lose a couple points, sorry but thats my rules.
