This place is absolutely delicious. I highly recommend the koala roll or the hurricane roll. In addition to their sushi, there cooked dishes come with exquisite flavor. Can’t go wrong with a bento box!
Our experience was sadly disappointing! Unfortunately, we did not even get the opportunity to taste the food. We were seated and the waitress took our drink order. She returned with our water and we never saw her again at our table. We sat and waited for 10-15 minutes as new customers came in, were seated, and had their orders taken ahead of ours while we tried to get someone’s attention. We eventually decided to get up and walk out, which is when they finally noticed us again and asked us if we wanted to order. We politely said, no, thank you, and left the restaurant. The host was polite and friendly and thanked us for coming in. The service was unwelcoming and very cold. We were looking forward to what seemed like authentic Japanese cuisine.

Sushi was pretty good, but definitely felt as if it was a self-service restaurant. Horrible service and very rude wait staff. Took three minutes to get greeted and even longer to receive the waters we asked for. Didn’t offer to take our order when she dropped waters off and she never came back. Literally. We studied the sushi menu forever and finally decided to bring our order up to the chef ourselves. I never got the miso soup I ordered so had to get up and remind her of the order. Waters went empty and had to ask another waitress to refil us and she didn’t say a word. We finished all four rolls and no one came over to ask how everything was, nor did we ever receive a check. Finally we got up and went to the front to pay ourselves. No thank you for coming in, for the tip, not even a have a good night. I have worked in restaurants for years, so I always give servers the benefit of the doubt–this however, was inexcusable. Were they busy? Not even close. 3-4 tables prime time Saturday night. We won’t be back.
Not what we expected….. We decided to give Hanabi a try because of the high rating but we were VERY disappointed. The service was horrible. Evidentally one glass of water or tea is all you are allowed. After taking our order we never saw our waitress again until she delivered our check. She was very cold and unfriendly. The gyoza was the only great experience of our meal. All of the rolls we ordered were very bland and seemed to taste the same. Had great hopes for this place but zero delivery. If you are looking for sushi I would recommend going elsewhere.
Good Japanese Food. They are open on Sunday night and we were looking for Japanese foods on our way back home and it was raining. Well, their foods made my day! The rice is also so good.
We are lucky to have a couple of good sushi places very close to home (Lenox Village), but we wanted to try someplace new. A friend recommended Hanabi, so we have it a go and were not disappointed!We started with some chicken yakitori — the chicken was prepared fresh and not drowning in sauce. Big plus there.Their sushi menu is quite varied and includes some ingredients not commonly featured in other Nashville restaurants. My husband and I especially loved the Parthenon roll.Maybe the best part of Hanabi is the fact that you can have a sushi dinner and drinks there and NOT break the bank. Compared to some of our other favorites, Hanabi was a steal.We will be returning to Hanabi again!
