Fresh, simple, delicious.. As Nashville/Brentwood newbies, we joined a friend for one of our first lunches out. Wild Iris is a laid back, welcoming restaurant with a nice local vibe. The menu for lunch was well priced with mostly everything falling in the $8-10 range. Our server was friendly and attentive the entire time. We had two of their wraps and a flat-bread. The standout, in my opinion, was the falafel flat-bread. It had an amazing Mediterranean flavor and the falfel was great. As sides we all enjoyed the sweet potato fries, and sesame sweet potato salad. The dinner menu looks a bit pricier, but if the quality matches lunch, we’ll certainly give it a shot. Great local lunch, highly recommend.

One of our favorites. My husband and I live in Brentwood so this place is REALLY convenient. That being said, we would certainly drive a distance to eat here. We are foodies, so to say that we like a place is a big deal. We LOVE Wild Iris. The staff is friendly, the food is always fresh and fantastic, and they have a nice wine list. If you are vegetarian, the portabella mushroom appetizer is big enough for a meal. I am not vegetarian, so thankfully I am always enjoying the nightly specials which are really creative and range from fish to steak. We wouldn’t miss our once a week venture here.

Nice little restaurant – upscale food; yet laid back atmosphere. Wild Iris is located well off the beaten path and tucked away in an old strip mall in Brentwood. Not far from here is newer developments (i.e. a new Publix shopping plaza and Maryland Farms). So, it would be very easy to miss Wild Iris. The lack of visibility from the main area of traffic gives you a bit of a testament to the fact that it must be good. Otherwise, it would just be forgotten. That said, I was impressed with Wild Iris. We went for a very early dinner on a Saturday (around 5 pm) and dined on their patio area. We ordered two salads, seafood entrees, wine, and desert. Total bill was around $97 with tip for two people. My entree was an amberjack (a type of white fish) filet with eggplant, tomatoes, and some interesting sides. The portions were very good and I had more than enough food. Also, I enjoyed the sauces, spices, and flavors of the food. Different than your normal chain-restaurant fare. The outside dining area was set up very nicely. But, with cicadas in season, we saw many creeping into our table area. In fact, one ended up crawling up my leg during the meal. That didn’t bother me. However, I could see it bothering some people. Also, the music piped out to the patio was some 70s light rock that didn’t fit the tone of this restaurant. They definitely needed to change that up a bit. Lastly, as this is a strip mall, I could smell cigarette smoke from some employees out in back of the buildings.Despite the foregoing negatives, I really liked Wild Iris. Good, prompt service and high-end food. It’s good for an occasion when you want to eat somewhere nicer, but do not want to wear a full suit and be overly formal. Also, I like that Wild Iris seems to have an emphasis on fresh ingredients.OVERALL: A good pick for an upscale meal with a mellow, laid back atmosphere. I recommend it.

Quaint dining. Dinner last night with friends at the quaint Wild Iris Restaurant in Brentwood. Love the complimentary homemade bread served with oil and fresh parmesan cheese. We had the tuna and scallops and each dish was delicious. Salads are outstanding. As well the Grilled Smoked Turkey Sandwich and Chicken Wrap are great at lunch.
