Among the best in town.. You really can’ t go wrong at Silke’s. Whether you’re wanting a quick coffee and delicious pastry, light lunch, or hearty German fare, Silke’s satisfies. They also boast some of the best pizza in town- their Greek pizza is out of this world. It’s a great place to relax at a leisurely lunch with friends because they have a wonderful little children’s corner, my kids just love going there. I’ve also had the pleasure of having a large private party hosted by Silke’s, and they really out did themselves- superb array of their best offerings, beautifully arranged. The evening was a great success and Silke and her staff bent over backwards to accommodate our guests special needs- even experimented with some gluten free pizza breads for us! I just love Silke’s and can’t recommend them enough.

My favorite restaurant in town! The food and service are just the best and the children’s play area really makes going to Silke’s with my small children a relaxing restaurant experience.

Below basic lunch place. Service is fun but food was lacking. It wasn’t bad but it wasn’t great either.

Hours. Drove 5 miles to this place to find it closed at 2:00 not 6:00 like listed. Call before going

AMAZING! One of my favorite places! Love the Fromage Sandwich, black bean soup, and pizza! You won’t be able to resist the pastries! Yum!

Here’s the pros and cons of one if my favorite lunch spots:The cons are that, as others have mentioned, the good is not ALL homemade. That’s unfortunate because what is homemade (baked goods) are amazing and I feel confident that anything else they did themselves would be too. Another con is how long it takes to order. One employee has a very hard time managing the cash register and customers in a timely fashion. This is fine by me, but if you’re in a hurry and she happens to be working the counter, you’re going to be annoyed by her very relaxed work ethic. The last con is parking. It’s limited and at lunch pretty much non existent. The pros are ours delicious, there’s free wifi, the atmosphere is laid back and cozy, there’s a children’s area, there are vegan options that are quite tasty and the staff is fairly permanent. It’s nice to see the same familiar faces. The unfortunate GFS potato salad and soups can be overlooked if you focus on yummy pastries and coffee but I do wish they would fix that and be completely Silkes. Worth going to make up your own mind about this place.

While the staff seems friendly, I’ve noticed that they seem to talk about people in German, probably figuring that most of the people they are trash talking doesn’t understand what they are saying. That is very impolite and a deal breaker for me.
