The costumer service at Kien Giang is heinous. Not even the authentic pho or the tasty Vermicelli can save them from the angry looks, under the breath comments, and deliberate disregard for timely service. I’ve moved on from this to happier places, which stands about 30 ft away to Miss Saigon.
Amazing food, Mediocre Service. I have been here on several occasions and they definitely have the most authentic pho. I always order pho ga (chicken pho) and it is consistently amazing. I start by ordering the fresh spring rolls and they come with a peanut dipping sauce that is so delicious. I also have ordered a coconut bubble tea which was freshly blended and extremely authentic…I have had prepackaged ones from restaurants before so I know that this is the real deal. The service isn’t bad or good. They are indifferent at best and bring out the food in a timely manner. It is difficult getting their attention if you want to order extra food, so just try to order everything at once because they will not come over and ask you how you are doing. Sometimes I just go up to the counter to ask for to go containers. The woman at the counter does seem a bit unfriendly but I honestly think there is a language barrier there. I asked her a question about the food in the display case and she didn’t seem to understand what I was saying. I also think the price of the food (it is extremely inexpensive) is the reason for the lackluster service, a reasonable tradeoff to me when it comes to authentic delicious pho.As far as the cleanliness goes I haven’t noticed anything alarming. I have always experienced clean tables and I haven’t ever noticed unattended spills. One thing I thought was a little strange is that they bring out the spring rolls on one plate and do not offer any additional plates. Be prepared to share!
