For food, this restaurant is FANTASTIC. My fiance and I have visited nearly once every other month for almost 2 years and tried everything – we have yet to find a menu item that is not delicious. The service is awesome as well with a very friendly and family- oriented atmosphere. The part that really impressed me was affordability. The prices are just the icing on the cake… My favorite items from the menu are the Vietnamese coffee and the curry. I have South Asian heritage so tasting the Vietnamese version of curry was so different (compared to the traditional Indian spice fest) and quite wonderful too. The flavors are soft, savory with a tinge of sweet coconut cream…my mouth is already watering just thinking of it. I plan to take my Mother there this afternoon actually… For anyone who wants to discover a gem of a restaurant in Nashville, I encourage you to stop by!! 🙂
We’re new to Vietnamese food, but really have liked our experience at Miss Saigon. We’ve had egg roll appetizers that are small but crispy and fresh. The vinegar dipping sauce was nice. We’ve both only had Pho as we’ve found we like it. I prefer the Pho with slow cooked beef, tripe, tendon, meatball and raw beef. The whole experience is something special. And the bowls are so large to be impossible to finish. Condiments, sprouts Thai basil, etc. let you customize the experience. I especially like the contrast in textures. The creamy meatball, the slightly springy tendon & tripe and the fresh cooked beef make for a variety of bites. The broth is clear and very beefy tasting. Noodles are really good. Our service has been great. Very helpful to us newcomers to this cuisine. The restaurant is quite nice on the inside with comfortable booths, very clean and an interesting little bar area. Lots of locals who know far more about this food than we have always been there and seem to be enjoying it too, so I’m pleased with Miss Saigon as our entry into Vietnamese food.
