Food is great! However and a BIG HOWEVER, their system for handling multiple parties and wait times is TERRIBLE!!!! Customers congregate and push their way to the front of the line where they give the number in their party. They don’t take names. So how in the world that works fairly is beyond me. As we waited there were dirty tables. There are clean tables for smaller parties and the smaller parties waiting. I’ve NEVER seen such disorganization in my life!
Loud music in restaurant. I was in the Columbia restaurant today with my Mom and Dad to celebrate my Mom’s 75th birthday. We really like to eat there, but today the music was so loud you would have thought you was in a club. My parents are in their 70’s and very soft spoken. It was very difficult to hear anything we said to each other. I finally asked the girl at the checkout counter if they could please turn it down a little that we couldn’t hear each other. She said she didn’t know how. I asked if there was anyone else who could do it. She did turn and ask another girl to do it. They could have turned it down a little, but I couldn’t really tell if they did. When asked if that was better, I just said it’s ok, because I figured that was all they was going to do.

Not a Good Day at Farmer’s!. I had not eaten at Farmer’s in Columbia for some time so I decided to go at lunch time. I was appalled at the food. That restaurant used to have the best veggies and meats, but now the veggie are so covered with spices you cannot taste the food. The fried chicken was soggy, the catfish was cold, and who eats whole green beans in the south? Besides all that, the air conditioning was broke and the floors were so slippery I almost fell down twice. Needless to say they need clean up their act and hire new cooks.
The restaurant was clean and accommodating to our large party of 9 people. Servers were prompt about bring refills and removing dirty plates. Food was good for a buffet.
Good Country Cooking!. This place has about any veggie you would want to eat,bought right from the farmers market and cooked fresh each day .Large buffett and plenty of room. My family and I have eaten here twice when traveling from Mississippi to Kentucky and the food is always hot and yummy. Meatloaf,fried chicken,hamburger steak,spagetthi,fish,just too much to mention.. All kinds of pie and cakes etc. Give them a try. Reasonable price,kid friendly. Staff are nice.
Home Cooking almost like Moms used to Make. Good food and nice prices.
