Great atmosphere, good service, and good food. The crab cakes were excellent, and the eggplant parmigiana was good, but I couldn’t finish it because it had a slightly off taste. My suspicion is that they may fry the eggplant in the same oil for frying fish and other non-vegetarian foods. They also have big portions and decent prices for the quality.

We love it here. The food is excellent. The staff is always willing to please. I’m so happy to have such a high quality place for us to eat without having to go all the way to Nashville.

Great Food & Service. Thanks to River Terrace, we no longer have to go to Cool Springs for an excellent meal. Not only is the food absolutely amazing, the owners and waitstaff provide friendly and excellent service.

Best Steak in the World!. I live in New Orleans, so I know what great food tastes like. I visit my parents in TN several times each year and they suggested River Terrace raving over the wonderful meals they serve. I was thrilled with the variety of choices we had ranging from seafood to steaks and everything in between. My husband ordered the Catfish Royale, my daughter the Mardi Gras chicken and I ordered the steak. Everything was delicious and the portions were generous. The steak was the best I have ever eaten and far surpassed Ruth Chris at a fractionof the cost. The staff was friendly and courteous. The Chef/Owner came to our table and was so friendly we felt like we were back home. The hostess was very gracious an helpful. Every trip to TN now includes a visit to River Terrace.

River Terrace has great tasting food beautifully presented by friendly servers in a tastefully adorned with hand crafted iron work and decorations from New Orleans. The owners even took time to check on us to ensure that we enjoyed our meal. I love the steaks but I think my new favorite is the Mardi Gras Chicken! The desserts are heavenly! Every dining room is romantic. The prices are what competitive with other fine dining restaurants. I have never had a bad experience there, its always been great!

This place is AMAZING! A real must-go!. Wow – I came here to give a well-deserved two-thumbs-up review of a fantastic place that merited my time to provide such, and am stunned to not only see that the page is not filled to capacity with glowing reviews, but that the two that are on here are negative. Well, just one really – the other one doesn’t matter because she’s never even been there. Who reviews a place they’ve never even been to? Sounds like whoever answered the phone was just trying to prevent a potential problem before it happened out of respect for the other guests that may have come that night, which I, for one, would have appreciated. (Whoever heard of a tame bachelorette party? The place is, after all, as the fellow said, a white-linen, more upscale place than that.) In any event, forward on to my purpose …. I’ve had occasion to come to Columbia regularly for the past several months on business, and stay at the Hampton Inn. Not knowing what restaurants were in the area when I made my first trip here in October, I asked the desk clerk at the hotel for recommendations, and was told they send everyone to River Terrace, New Orleans Cuisine, that it was a local independently owned restaurant that their guests were always really happy with. Well, after going there, I can see why. I’ve been to some of the finest restaurants in the country, and can honestly say that the food here merits 5 stars, right up there with some New York fine dining experiences I’ve had. The owners – who are actually from New Orleans – visited most every table from what I could see, including my own, and were as friendly and pleasant as could be. I had an appetizer of fried green tomatoes, which had a very unique glaze on them that was to live for, followed by the house salad, which was a full salad plate that had the absolute best homemade dressing on it I think I’ve ever had. (Where Voltaire’s petty ‘contact lens’ reference came from, I can’t imagine – the whole review is so off-base that it sounds suspiciously like something maybe a competitor would pen???) I ordered the house specialty, the Catfish Royale, which was a delicate catfish filet smothered in the best crawfish etouffee I’ve ever had in my life, over a bed of fluffy rice. I was absolutely stuffed from the generous portions and my inability to stop eating so much because it was so good, but could not resist ordering the bread pudding with rum sauce after I was told it was homemade daily. Truly an outstanding culinary experience overall, one that I have repeated several times since with various entrees and from which I’ve never been disappointed – highly recommended.
