I’ve never been more disappointed with a place than I am with Blue Coast Burrito. As a fan of this franchise, I was so excited when it opened in Cookeville. At the very beginning, it was good. Unfortunately, it has only gone downhill from there.For this particular visit, I went right at 1pm, after the lunch rush. There was 1 person in line and only 1 person behind the counter. Another lady walked in behind me. The girl behind the counter continued to get more and more frustrated because she had absolutely no help. She told us that she was also trying to refill all of the items on the buffet line. To her credit, she was doing the best she could. Finally, 3 other employees appeared, apparently from their lunch break. After I paid, I went to the drink station. This is where I was truly disgusted. It was filthy all over. The mat on the floor had liquid all over it, the counter had liquid on it, tea was making and squirting out of the container, but the most disturbing of all can be seen below in one my pictures. I have seen this multiple times here, but this was the worst ever. Under where the ice comes out was black mold. It is apparent that it hasn’t been cleaned for a very long time. These machines are supposed to be cleaned EVERY DAY! If the equipment is this nasty, I hate to think about things in the kitchen. As far as the food goes, sometimes it’s good, sometimes it’s not, but it’s never consistent. Regardless, I can’t eat in a place that doesn’t even see fit to keep things clean of mold.
