Really!!??. Had Lunch here for the first time… my mac and cheese was Kraft from a box for the price as I side I can buy 2 – 3 boxes for that amount. Went back that evening for dinner thinking it was a fluke… well nope… it was not any different. They may be in the top 20 but it’s for their bbq only which is dry and you have to use a whole bottle of bbq sauce to choke it down.. and their sides leave A LOT to be desired!!!!!
Vegetarian Review. I know what you’re thinking….who cares what a vegetarian thinks about the food at Bobby Q’s? It’s all about the BBQ, right? But as many Bobby Q’s fans will agree, although the BBQ is great (so I hear), the restaurant serves up some great side items as well. All I had was a salad and baked potato and I came away thinking it was an awesome meal. And, trust me, after years of eating out with my extremely carnivorous husband, I’ve had my share of bad meals from the side item menu. Whatever you’re doing right, Bobby Q’s, keep doing it because I will be back!!!
Stopped here for lunch and my friend ordered the loaded pork baked potato. It said $5.25 but it was actually $6.25 and the lady at the register told us that the price in the menu was wrong. Also even though we were paying on one ticket wanted all three of us to show our Tech IDs because apparently the discount only counts for each individual meal. She also asked for our tip so it could be applied to the card. I felt that was a little rude. When we left my other friend did the math and she didn’t even apply the Tech discount. Overall I was not impressed.
My Favorite Ribs. I’ve been eating at this restaurant since I was a kid, I’ve always loved their ribs! Everywhere I go I eat BBQ. I’ve traveled far and wide and have yet to find ribs that top Bobby Q’s. Get the sampler platter if you go and get a taste of their ribs, pork, and beef. Remember to save room for the coconut pie!
Cookeville Q. Stopped here when starting a little review of the North Carolina Barbeque Highway. Stacked up very well with all the barbeque joints we tried. Bobby Q’s pork has a nice smoked flavor, chopped coarse, moist and tender. Order the sauce on the side (its the weak part of this meal). Enjoyed and will return.
