Terrible service and the waitress is quite rude. So slow
This is an excellent restaurant in downtown Cookeville. I’ve tried many menu items and they were all well prepared, presented and served.
I ordered a blackened ribeye steak… This place is not as advertised. No way the bestbsteaks in town. I ordered medium rare and it was rare, very rare. The steak was subpar at best. I’m sure it wasn’t fresh as advertised definitely frozen and thin. Don’t waste your money like I did… A $20 steak. One expects much much more for the price. My wife had the seafood pasta and it was a disappointment as well. If you want to have a drink and listen to music this place is fine but they are not of the caliber to demand their price. Can you hear me now?. Music was so loud that we couldn’t even talk! Food was not that great. Prime rib was greasy. Service was not great. I would not return. We waited for them to work out all the bugs, but they’re not worked out yet. Not good!
Great Food and Great Atmosphere!!!. I love Char. I have been eating there and hanging out regularly for over 2 years. I ate there about 4 years ago and didn’t like it, but for some reason a couple of years ago we went back. The service and food were awesome!!!! The beer selection was great, and if you like micro brews, they carry at least 3 different local brews from the Sergio Brothers that own Calfkiller Brewery. The lunch special is always good, and I am sure they have the best smoked wings of any restaurant anywhere.
Live Music + Good Food & Drinks = Great Experience. Char offer’s a variety of food and drinks. (My personal favorite: Woodchuck!) I was visiting Cookeville and a friend (Tommy Lee) was playing at Char so I decided to try it out. The atmosphere was great, the hostess – courteous, the waiter – amazing, the bartender – wonderful! The quality of the food is exceptional to be a rest./bar, and again, the drink list doesn’t disappoint. When I return to TN, I will ABSOLUTELY be visiting Char again!
