Yuck. It’s hard to mess up Mexican food but this place did. Their refried beans were disgusting. The guacamole was okay. The enchilada sauce was bland and chips were oily.
Wonderful food and service. Beware when ordering a grande Margarita as it’s 32oz.
Pleasantly surprised to find a great Mexican restaurant while passing through the area. Yummy! Great service too.
Ordered beef nachos and a beef combination dinner. What came out is a new definition of mystery meat. Honestly, we commented that it looked like something our dog had thrown up. The so-called beef had to be something like 1 part beef flavored meat substitute and about 4 parts who knows what. Absolutely the worst Mexican food I’ve eaten in memorable history.
Poor Meat Quality. I used to love El Tapatio, it WAS my favorite restaurant. The quality of the meat that is now being served just isn’t up to par. I got the chile colorado and it had so much gristle and fat in it that I couldn’t eat it . I didn’t learn my lesson and I went back on another occasion hoping that it was just a one time thing. This time I ordered steak fajitas, and it also had alot of gristle running through it. DEFINITELY DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS RESTAURANT
Gross over cooked and still cold. Overcooked and yet cold. Since when is Broccoli carrots and cauliflower common mexican restaurant veg’s? Everything is just wrong and I think the only reason people still eat here is because of the bad mexican restaurants in town this one is not as dirty.
Waiters are clean polite and when you go often they remember you. love the food. Would and have taken many people there the one in sparta tenn is just as good. I watch their inspection grades and they seem to be cleaner than most restaurants in cookeville. They go out of their way to please their customers. Sure its more american mexican but it cant be beat in cookeville. Two thumbs up. Keep up the good work. And if you notice their staffs uniforms are always clean. That makes huge difference from some of the other places. We go often and will continue. Cant beat their lunch prices. Thanks for caring about your customers. your friend
