My first Friday in Cookeville and I had to do something fun! So, a friend and I decided to head to Father Tom’s Pub. We had come across this place quite a few times when we were driving around. Always looked inviting. We got here post our movie outing at around 7 in the evening. They have a patio seating and seating in the inside. The place was full! We went to the bar, ordered a margarita and a LIIT and waited out in the patio for a table. We got hungry and ordered a plate of fries in the meantime. But, it was a Friday night and nobody was in a mood to leave early. So we paid our bill of 17 bucks and left. It is a really nice place, very pretty and has a nice vibe to it. I am definitely going back here to gorge in on their food and drinks at the same time!Updated Review:Staying true to my earlier words, I did visit the place again. We reached around 9 in the night and the place was moderately crowded. This time around we ordered food. The tomato soup was tasty but a bit salty. The fish and chips tasted good is what my friend said. The Bruschetta was as fresh as it could be! Everything else was nice like I remember.

Great Food/Great Experience. Father Tom’s Pub reminds me of some of the nicer gastro pubs I’ve found in Nashville’s Gultch or in downtown Knoxville. Their menu is pretty limited but I haven’t found anything on it I didn’t like. They have an outstanding beer selection and the atmosphere is great. Get there early if you want a table. It fills up quickly.
