This has been one of my go to restaurants for years, but after the last couple of visits, I have to say, I’m very disappointed. Today was the worst of all. We went for lunch, and they had a good crowd but not super busy. Although we got seated right away and got our drinks, it took probably 15 minutes to get our soup and salads. Literally 2 minutes later, our waiter brought our plates to the table. So then we have our entrees with our soup and salad all at the same time. I ordered the Hibachi Filet Mignon, cooked medium. I immediately taste one of my filet bites to make sure it was cooked right. It had been seared off way too hot, and the middle was chewy. Then I tasted the fried rice, and it had no flavor at all. I poured soy sauce on it to help a little, but it only helped a bit. They took out the green peas, carrots, and maybe something else from their fried rice about a year ago because they said people were complaining about those items! It’s not really fried rice without it! The vegetables were okay, except for the onions. They absolutely ruined the steak though. Not once did our waiter ask if everything was okay or how our food was. Unfortunately, I don’t think I’ll be back.

Not so great.. First of all the actual restaurant itself. Its VERY dark, VERY open, and when i say open i dont mean inviting i mean like theres a whole void, just flooring. I was confused by this. When we walked in i couldnt tell who worked there because NONE of the hosts were wearing uniforms. Actually they weren’t even dressed professional. The waitresses however were wearing a uniform as was the sushi chef. Our waitress seemed dull and uninterested in doing her job. She was curt, and had to ask again what our order was right after we just told her. I ordered the hibachi salmon which was VERY thin. The sauces ontop of it were not good. i also tried the california rolls which had little to no crab in them and by the time we got them they were actually semi warm. Gross. I was more hungry when i left then when i got there. I would have been better off throwing my money into my toilet and flushing it. It was highly disappointing. i will NOT be going there again. oh and its the end of March and they had Christmas music playing. Weirdest, most lame experience ive ever had going out to dinner. ever.

Very Nice Place. I enjoy sushi and hibachi so when I saw this place open I had to try it. I will rate this by the sushi quality, hibachi quality, and the staff.Hibachi. I would rate this as average along with the show as average. Nothing spectacular…just average.Sushi. I know many are going to compare this to the other places in town that have sushi and I can say that Fuji is the best or tied for the best (yes…I am talking about Taiko…great sushi) and here why. I have broken it down into a few categories. My review is based on the specialty rolls…not basic rolls like a california roll.Presentation. Their presentation of their sushi IS the best in town. I am not talking about their basic rolls…I am talking about the serious rolls like the Dynamite roll, the Manhattan roll, etc. I have eaten the Manhattan roll three different times and each time the presentation was different. Now that was awesome! So they take first place for presentation.Price. This is a toss up against Taiko. I would say they are about even here.Quality of fish eggs. They use a grade lower for fish eggs which might bother some but I oddly enjoy the grade lower fish eggs better then the top grade fish eggs. So this will be personal preference for many.Sauces. Wow! Their spicy mayo and eel sauce are so good as is their wasabi sauce. Now here is the thing..I don’t like wasabi but man do I like their wasabi sauce. I just wish they had a teriyaki and garlic sauce. So they take first for their three sauces that they do carry but Taiko takes first for their teriyaki and garlic sauce.Flavor. This is a toss up because it really depends upon the rolls you get and personal preference. I have my favorites at Taiko and I have my favorites and Fuji and they are different than each other. So who do I prefer in this category. Depends upon what I want at that specific time.Staff. GREAT staff! Very friendly. Some are on the quiet side but if you start talking to them they open up and are a great time.So Fuji or Taiko? Depends on your mood but both are great and no one else in town can touch them.
