The sauce at Mamma Rosa’s is spectacular. My understanding is that it’s an old family recipe. Great surprise. Service was great, nice family atmosphere.
I heard a lot about this place from a couple of friends, all good things. I do not have good things to say after my visit. Maybe it was just an off day for them or just an off day for us. It is a house, a big house might I add, converted into a restaurant. There are obviously rooms which are converted into dining areas. The tables are nicely spread out, so not too crowded. We were shown to our table and we got down to ordering. For drinks we ordered couple of glasses of wine. It was poured out of this mini wine bottle. I don’t know why I have a problem with that but I just do. For food we ordered Garlic Bread and Stromboli. Garlic bread was not the best. I like garlic bread that is a little crispy. Stromboli was not the best either. It was the first time I ever had it, and that was not the best way to start. My friend also had uncooked dough in her portion of the Stromboli! I know right. The prices are not too steep but it is definitely on the pricey side. If the food was any good I wouldn’t mind the pricing, but for what I ate, let me just say I was not happy.
