I write this while looking at the half eaten slice of the very amazing Chocolate Cake I got from Back Room Bistro. During our meal, Kelly asked me how would I rate the place on 5. I said 3.5 then and added that if the cake tasted remotely as good as it looked, I would raise it to a 4. I stand by what I said.Friday noon, on another lunch outing, we decided to head to Back Room Bistro. It is a quaint little place, quite literally the last room on the floor. It has its own unique charm, a cafe which was not originally built for that purpose. We waited as our hostess joined us at the billing counter and patiently took our orders. Among the four of us, we asked for Bacon and Cheese Quiche, Pesto Chicken, Greek Salad with Chicken, Sundried Tomato and Artichoke Quiche and a piece of Chocolate Cake. Let me be honest, I had my eyes on that Chocolate Cake the moment I walked in. There was no way I was not ordering that. We had fruits, green beans and potato soup for sides and strawberry lemonades and water for drinks. I loved the Quiche I ordered and I heard that the Bacon Quiche was nice too. My friend loved her Pesto Chicken and the one who ordered Greek Salad said she would get the Pesto Chicken the next time. We all know there is going to be a next time! The potato soup was creamy and flavorful. The food is well priced and you get your money’s worth.I love places that strike a chord with me. This one totally did, for everything it has to offer. I definitely recommend! 🙂

Love the healthy choices!. There is a real focus on healthy choices at this quaint backroom bistro in the heart of Cookeville. The food is healthy and fun (great soups and sandwiches). The desserts are great (try the brown sugar chocolate chip cookie). More choices are being added but I like the fact that NONE of the options are high saturated fat or unhealthy. Friendly folks, family atmosphere-really like it.
