So sad because at one time it was really good.16 Nov, 2013I read some of the other reviews but did not have their bad experiences. They are under new management so maybe that is why. It is a bit more like fast food, but of a higher quality than Moe’s or Qdoba.16 Nov, 2013Great food and friendly service. Their portions are big and they always have great daily specials that make it even more affordable. Have not tried anything that we haven’t really liked.
I agree with the last person, the place is under new management. I love it! Good prices and the food is quality over Taco Bell and those other fast food restaurants. It’s a fast food place that you can actually feel good about eating.
Very Disappointed. Ordered a basic combo – Bean Burrito with a Cheese Enchilada / beans and rice. Really, really bad – reminiscent of a frozen mexican entree from the grocery. Meal was bland and dry – definitely not worth the $7.99. Driving half a mile down the road to one of the other Mexican restaurants is recommended. On the plus side – staff is very friendly and the store front itself is very clean and pleasant.
Cheap and Unappetizing. If you want cheap Tex / Mex food, the Lalo’s is for you. If you want some really good Mexican or Tex / Mex food, then go somewhere else. Just was not impressed by any of the entres. It was more of a fast food experience than a sit down cafe, though we did eat in the restaurant.My spouse ordered one of their shrimp burritos. It came wrapped in some sort of paper wrapping and nothing else. When she started to unwrap the burrito the liquid in the food came pouring out of the wrapping all over the table in front of her. She asked for a plastic plate, and was provided one with which to eat her meal. She said the taste was OK, but nothing that would bring her back. Still trying to figure out why they didn’t provide a plate in the first place.I ordered the shrimp fajitas. There was shrimp, a very small side of refried beans, a very few grilled onions & maybe some peppers. There were also some corn totillas in a wrapper. It also included some lettuce with a very minor amount of guacamole and sour cream. However, there was some liquid stirring around in the lettuce. But I’m comfident it was not what the shrimp was cooked in, but rather water from washing the lettuce, or something else. The shrimp was cooked properly with some sort of Tex / Mex spice, but the liquid mixing with the shrimp & lettuce made the whole dish unappealing. In addition, the refried beans were also very runny.We also had a side order of taco chips & guacamole. The guacamole was actually the highlight of the dinner. It really was good. The chips were, for the most part, not whole. The vast majority of the chips were broken, and many were almost too small to dip in the guacamole. But we finished off the 1/2 pint of the guacamole. Total price of the meal including a bottled water and 1 fountain drink was about $17.00. Cheap dinner, but not worth going back.
