We love this place and patron them at least twice a month. The wait staff is wonderful, we’re always seated promptly and we’ve never had a dish we didn’t like.
We decided to try this place on a whim since our daughter requested meatballs and this restaurant was conveniently close to our house. We were looked at a bit funny for bringing a 4 year old out to eat, but tried not to think much of it. Other than some slightly snooty employees, our food was good if not a bit overpriced. Will probably try another Italian spot before returning. Wish they would make the outside look a little less… Weathered…
Very good salmon appetizer, very good service, shrimp was overdone, cannoli filling was dry. Scallops were generously sized, pasta and sauce was out of this world yummy. I will go back for sure.
Valentines Massacre. Valentines massacre is what I would call it. Expecting nothing but the great service we had gotten before was quickly squashed in one evening. After one and a half hours of arriving at our time of reservation, we still hadn’t been served our meal. People that came in after we got our salads were already enjoying their choice of 6 meals for Valentine’s day. My fiance and I were still waiting for the additional bread we asked for when the appetizer came out. Frustrated beyond belief we both got up searching for service in the crowded Italian restaurant. My fianc asked the manager for help but told her to speak to someone else, I expect he was too busy to help the customer who pays his salary. We were apologized to and immediately told our meal were ready but we had enough and offered to pay for what we had eaten. Of course they said we didn’t have to and apologized but it will never make up for the ruined Valentine’s dinner. We had hoped for a great night and were very disappointed with the service tonight at Antonio’s. I only hope they do something because we have gift cards, lol. Be warned people!
Experienced Diner. I have eaten here at Antonio’s many times, and live in the area. On two occasions several years ago me and my date encountered rude and slow service, but I love the food. My favorite is pasta with their bolognese sauce…..their meat sauce cannot be beat here in Nashville. I have eaten at practically every high end or well regarded Italian restaurant in town and the bolognese at Antonio’s cannot be beat. I had halibut one night, and though it was not cheap, it was delectable and melted in my mouth. The service can be a problem, depending on which waiter you get. They had a problem with rude wait staff and I stayed away from the place for two years after a bad experience. Waiter Bruce does a good job. Bartender has zero personality. I have seen comments to the hostess being rude, but she has always been pleasant to me. I eat there for the bolognese, and occasionally me getting outside of that favorite, I have been rewarded like the evening I had the halibut. Antonio is generally there cooking in the kitchen, and his son waits tables some evenings. He is extremely nice, which is why it surprises me that there have issues of his staff’ being rude. He hails from Greece originally.
My husband and I got the specials: a New York strip and the halibut with no appetizers and 1 beer an our bill was $98.00. We usually never have a problem spending money on food however this was decent at best and I feel we could have gotten a 45 dollar steak at Kayne Prime and been blown away but this was a basic strip at best. We didnt even ask the price thinking most specials at a mid grade restaurant are like 32 bucks at most but whoa…. They sure think highly of themselves to price their specials so high. It’s an average place at best.
Bev. A friend and I had dinner last evening at Antonio’ s. our meal was great as always., but the service was poor and the menu just never changes. A great minestrone would be great for a change. Better listen to your critics, and show some improvements or goodbye to loyals.
