Not good. First off, this is a dive. I get that, however, the place was FILTHY!We ordered boudain (below avg), the sampler and the shrimp poboy. The etoufee was awful. You could tell the crawfish was old because of the taste. Red beans and rice wasnt good. No flavor. The sausage was actually good. Cornbread was dry. The gumbo was bad. I did eat the sausage out of it because that was tastey. The shrimp poboy was good. Ill say Im from Louisiana and lowered my expectations before I went but it was still bad.The service…we didnt have silverware. We didnt have napkins. The server is yelling from our table to the kitchen about the order being messed up. The server and chef were verbally arguing in front of the entire restaurant. The 2 chefs looked as if they couldnt care less and were just wondering around eating food, etc.Everyone was really nice but the place needs a bath and new recipes. Disgustingly dirty.
On vacation from New Jersey, stopped in because if Diners, Drive-Ins & Dives. It’s very authentic! Felt like we were in the real south! Very friendly! And great food! Thank you for your southern hospitality!
I had the sampler with a side of jambalaya and turnip greens. My wife had a shrimp po boy and a side of cucumber salad. And for dessert, we shared a bread pudding with rum sauce. We enjoy all the food, but the next time we come I will get a po boy, red beans and rice, and turnip greens. My wife said she wants the jambalaya and turnip greens. We will be back. On the negative side, the corn bread was burnt on the bottom, the rum sauce on the bread pudding needed more rum, and the restaurant could be cleaner.
Eh, it was okay. The entrees seemed to all be good, but the sides were lacking. Staff was slow when checking us out to leave and they were clearly understaffed, which they apologized for multiple times. (this was more awkward than if they had just let it go though). Might go back if I am in the area, but I won’t make a special trip for it again.
DON’T GO HERE! Go to Chappy’s on Church street! This place used to be friendly back in the day, but now the staff is awful! I went here for the 1st time in years and had awful service. After several waitresses passed me, a rude waitress finally asked if i needed help. I ordered to go and the little guy working behind the food counter made my order for dine in. I was looking at him make my order and he proceeded to scoop half the food off the plate and put it in a to go box. Mind you, i paid $18 for this food, and he put half the food for dine in, in the to go box, plus he left out an item! When I mentioned this to the rude lady waiting on me, she didn’t seem to care and took the food back to the little guy to correct. I was looking directly at them when she went behind the food counter and heard both of them snickering about my complaint. This really pissed me off and I asked for my money back. She tried to apologize for the little guy making the orders, claiming he needed help which didn’t faze me one bit! There’s no excuse for their service and attitudes. This place is a rip off and nasty inside! After reading previous comments, I’m glad I didn’t waste my money on this food! If you want quality Cajun food, go to Chappy’s. The food is great and the restaurant and staff is nice and clean, unlike the trash working at Bros that look like they came straight out of a trailer park! Go to to Chappy’s on Church!
Worst meal I’ve ever had. Food was cold, tasted like it was prepared days ago. They were out of several menu items. Waitress was nice but seemed lost. Place felt grimy.
