Incredible find. How does a pizza place end up with a higher rating than every $$$$ restaruant in Nashville except for one? When was the last time you shaded the door of any eatery other than a Waffle House and everyone in the place stopped what they were doing to welcome you as if you were family? How often are you acknowleded by only one staff member in restaurant only to be ignored by all of the others? We were nearly fallen over by one staff member after another checking to make sure we did not want for anything. What would motivate employees to do this and be so sincere in the process? They appreciate and feel the esteem of the owners who treat them with dignity and respect. Every employee we encountered bragged about what great people the owners were and how happy they were to be affiliated with Fontanella. After meeting one of the owners in person, I can understand what the employees were saying. This culture permeates the entire organization and runs from the service through the outstanding food. We just dropped in for a beer and ended up staying for dinner. Cafe Fontanella’s bar was one of the friendliest places we have ever stopped. Good pizza you ask? We have not tasted better thin crust pizza since we indulged ourselves at the place pizza was introduced into the US, New Haven, CT. We actually felt guilty that we were not charged more for what we received as part of a regular 2 for 1 special. You will not find better pizza anywhere we can name and you will thank yourself for partaking of one of the best examples of true southern hospitality we have ever experienced and we live in the south!
Best kept local secret! Beautiful views, excellent service, fantastic homemade garlic cheese bread,! Chicken piccata and lasagna where mouth watering good- no canned sauce here! Cocktails were stout and mixed to perfection. Above all the price was very reasonable. We will be returning frequently! Nicely done…
Great atmosphere! Perfect for date night or family dinner! Sunday’s are half price wine( glass an bottle. We had the pizza and baked ziti. Rolls are delicious ( if you like buttery garlic)! Lovely live entertainment! Will definitely go again!!
