Underwhelming food….. Based on the glowing reviews here, I decided to give this place a shot. I love Middle Eastern food and have tried numerous places in Nashville and elsewhere. While Grassmere seemed to have a few authentic choices, everything was very bland and without much flavor. The buffet featured chicken (which appeared to be prepared in kabob fashion, but without the accompanying veggies), gyro meat, pitas, kofta type meat (which is like ground meat); hummus, and a version of dolmades (stuffed grape leaves). It also featured corn on the cob, green beans, fried catfish (I think), cantaloupe, and some random salad stuff.Overall, I think this place could do much, much better. For example, see my review of Lebanese Taverna in Washington, DC or Genie’s Restaurant (which, unfortunately, is now closed) in Franklin. Given the bland flavors and non-descript entrees, I probably will not return.

Good Food. The food is pretty good. It gets you very full and at a reasonable price. The salads have a unique taste and are very good as well. I like the chicken plate with yellow rice. If you like mediterrean food you will like this place and this is coming from a true skeptic.
