My wife and I started eating at Kobe back in 2007. At the time, business was always extremely slow for them whenever we showed up. The food and sushi were fantastic. Over the years, Kobe seemed to bring in more and more business. The food remained it’s main draw for us, as sometimes service left a little to be desired. Unfortunately, I believe ownership of Kobe has recently changed. The staff are now unfamiliar people and the service has unfortunately hit rock bottom. The food is not the same either. Everything I’ve had there recently is bland at best, including the sushi. On our last visit there were multiple people waiting for their to-go orders. It appeared that everyone was waiting quite a while and growing impatient. When orders were received, there appeared to be multiple problems for several different customers. We dined in this time. No booths were available because there were dirty dishes remaining from precious customers. It took quite a while for someone to take our order as well. We noticed that of the other three tables occupied in the restaurant, one couple finally had enough and left because nobody ever came by to take their order. Another couple waited even longer than we did for their food and they arrived before we did. Once out food arrived, it was nothing special. Bland would be the best word used to describe it. It’s a shame that Kobe has turned into this. I always looked forward to eating there.

Family Friendly Asian. Kobe is a best kept secret when it comes to Asian food in Nashville. Their rolls are by far the biggest, freshest and most delicious I’ve ever had. Family friendly too with a kid menu which is hard to find in many Asian restaurants. They also have these great little chop stick helpers which make it much more fun for the kiddos to use. We are also fans of all the curry dishes they have to offer. Try them out!

This was not a good restaurant. The eating area was dirty. A bottle of cleaner was on the sushi counter. The service was slow and poor. The hibachi steak and scallops had beef, but it was not steak, more like bottom round. The shrimp tempura came out after our meal. It was cold and not the least bit crunchy. I will not eat there again.

SUSHI in SOUTHEAST NASHVILLE. This is a Oriental Restaurant that I have driven by day after day. I few weeks ago I finally decided to try them after hearing good reviews from people in my community. I went over their Menu item by item online so I would be familiar with all of their choices and could place my order quickly. I had been sick with whatever was going around right before Christmas 2013 and definitely wanted Soup and Tempura. So I ordered he Tom Yum Soup with Shrimp and Mixed Tempura. The soup arrived immediately and boy was I surprised. It was very good but very spicy and hot. I laughed that the Chili Oil would delete whatever germs I had left in my system. The Tempura arrived shortly and the sweet dipping sauce was a great counter agent to the Soup. The place is not fancy by any means, but was clean and that is what matters to me most. I will definitely go back and see how their Sushi and Sashimi is. I am so glad we have this Restaurant in our area.

Sketchy looking, but…. I was extremely satisfied with the food, and quite happy with the atmosphere. I ended up having the Hibachi Scallops, looking for something meaty, not another soup bowl. The dish ended up super flavorful, moist, and the scallops were cooked perfectly. The side bowl of sauce had an excellent flavor for dipping all of the meat and vegetables as well.I thought the place looked sketchy and off putting from the outside, but you walk in and it opens up into a somewhat large dining area with a sushi bar. The inside’s got a simple, casual atmosphere that puts me at ease. I can just eat and feel comfortable. I don’t know how I ended up spending 21 dollars on dinner, which was Hibachi Scallops and a Thai Tea, and then tax & tip. A smidge expensive I think.Sushi’s on my to-do list, for this restaurant.

Best Sushi Anywhere!. Visited here about a week ago due to the other great reviews. Location seems shady at first (out by the airport, desolate with only a rundown liquor store around) Inside the place looked fabulous though! Sushi was top grade quality and very reasonably priced. (Two rolls, soup, spring roll for 10.95) Left very satisfied and full. I have had sushi in numerous high end restaurants that didn’t even compare to the quality and taste of Kobe. Entire staff was excellent. Very casual atmosphere, almost family like. When I asked the waitress if we could watch the UT v Vandy game, she just gave me the remote so we could switch between different games. LOVE IT!
