Probably not the restaurants fault but I have tried miso-based ramens on a couple of occasions even with other restaurants and have found it to be too salty for my palate. It was the same case here. My husband had the soy-based ramen and that came out much better. Also, we always eat gyoza with our ramen and have have a developed opinion of what a perfect gyoza tastes like. This one was ok not great, a bit on the rubbery side. It was still a good warm bowl and good service at the end of the day so no qualms but would probably try other ramen places before coming back here.
Very good food and attentive wait staff my son has been to Ramen restaurants in New York and Sydney said Sydney was best this is second better than New York nice flavors and fresh ingredients
I found Otaku in a relentless search for a good ramen shop in the area that was safe for me to eat at. I have a pretty severe allergy to peanuts and tree nuts. The staff at Otaku we excellent in dealing with my allergy and making sure that everything I had was safe and well prepared. Between my girlfriend and myself we had the Tennessee Tonkatsu, Shio ramen, and the gyoza. Everything was delicious and well prepared. The atmosphere of the resturant was very relaxed, and the seating at the bar was the best place to be.
The food here is always fresh, and I love the atmosphere. The kitchen is out in the open, so you can see everything prepared in front of you. No matter how busy it is, the place is well-staffed, and the service is fast. I would recommend the soy eggs.
Really cool place to eat dinner, a different kind of food experience. One down side I found is that the spice that you pay extra for gets lost and can’t really be tasted once it’s in the Ramen.
I was fortunate enough to see Otaku on The Travel Channel days before my trip to Nashville. Imagine surprise to discover they were opening their brick and mortar location during my visit! I made it a point to stop here for dinner & could not be happier with my choice. The vibe and service were excellent, and although they were out of several items on their menu due to high volume on opening day, I got exactly what I wanted: the pork ramen. It was everything I’d hoped for and more! Don’t miss it.
We were hoping for a great bowl of ramen but walked away not really wowed. It was okay, I wouldn’t say the TN Tonkotsu had any depth of flavor. The pork just seemed like an afterthought. The persons that took our order was really nice.
