Too many places make a thick crust pizza and call it Chicago deep dish pizza, and that’s not the same thing at all. To be real Chicago deep dish pizza it’s dough has to have butter in is so it comes out almost like a cross between pizza dough and pie dough. (312’s does) Next, it has to be constructed, baked and served in thick carbon steel pans blackened with a patina earned by baking thousands of pizzas. (312’s does) Next, it must be constructed with the cheese on the bottom next to the crust and in slices, then the toppings with the sauce on the top. (312’s does) Finally, it’s not fast food, it takes a lot of time to bake. (312’s does that too) So, they have all the elements of real Chicago deep dish, how is it? In my opinion, great! And although I’m still a Lou Malnati’s guy, I’d put 312’s pizza right up there with the best of Chi. There’s only one size of deep dish, and it’ll feed 3 or 4 depending on if you have appetizers or salad. Speaking of salads, they have a good assortment that are large enough to feed 2 and make a good starting point to pass the time waiting for the pizza to bake. The place has a sports bar thing going on in addition to the pizza place, so it gets crowded. Especially when the Bear or Cubs play. But, we’ve gone on more off times and always had good attentive service. Some real friendly servers who we could strike up conversations with and enjoy the time there. So, Nashville, if you haven’t had real deep dish in Chicago and want to know what the difference is, try 312.

We never had a chance to sample the food. The manager pulled all the employees at 4:45pm for a meeting, leaving us sitting and waiting. Chose to try someplace else as the manager watched us leave.

The closest thing to a sports bar in this part of town if you’re trying to find somewhere to watch the game. The classic Chicago-style pizza is worth the 45 minute cook time wait; not a bad version of the real thing from Chicago. Some of the apps and salads are good too and the drink/ cocktail list is good as well.

Saw an add for this place and being a lover of Chicago deep dish pizza decided to try it out. The pizza takes 45 min to make so we started with beer cheese fries with the spicy pickled mix. Good, rich cheese, crunchy fries, and the spicy pickle mix was nice and fresh. We got the torrino pizza and although it was slightly over done, it was pretty good. It had a lot of cheese and was really meaty. Plus you get 10% off any purchase at Tempered cafe with your 312 receipt.

I’m not sure what the attraction was other then the Germantown neighborhood. This was the worst pizza I have ever had out. If we weren’t dining with family I would have sent it back. The crust tasted more like Chicago sidewalk instead of Chicago pizza. The line to the bathrooms made me feel like I was tailgating at a college football game. I have personally owned 2 pizza shops. There are 2 kinds of pizza; good and bad, and this was definitely bad.

Honestly the worst service in some time. Beyond the wait… Assumed we weren’t hungry when waitress dropped pizza and instead of asking if we wanted some more pizza simply took 25% off bill. No choice I guess.

We visited recently and did not have the best experience. After driving all the way there, we were famished and very excited to eat. The waitress took our order and NEVER PUT IT IN. we sat there for two hours before she even came back to the table and apologized. We even got charged for the pizza but we got a free appetizer. The pizza wasn’t bad though. Maybe better service would help.
