My husband and I were in from out of town looking for somewhere to have dinner before the Grand Ole Opry which was at the Ryman Auditorium. We decided we wanted southern/comfort food and made a reservation. First, we did not need a reservation. We arrived at 7:30 and if this was their normal Saturday night crowd, implying you need a reservation is a joke. We walked in and there was one table with a large family and the rest of the place was empty. We were sat down and waited for nearly half an hour before any of the three employees we saw acknowledged us. They were helping the other table with the large family but not so much as taking our drink order. About 20 minutes in my husband was getting very agitated but I asked him to calm down and wait. At 8:00 one of the waiters asked if we had been helped and when we said no he was very mildly apologetic, and took our order. He did offer us the appetizer we ordered on the house since we waited so long to be helped. We had the fried pickles as an appetizer and they were actual really good and the portion was fair for the price. I reassured my husband we had made the right decision in staying. Then our entrees came out. He had the fried catfish and I had the BBQ pork chop. The pork chop was very good (nothing special) but TINY. I didn’t take a photo to share, but it was a loin chop and was about 3/4 in thick. I got mashed potatoes with it (one lunch lady style scoop) and a bowl of slaw. This was $16. My husband got one piece of fish, some fries and the same bowl of slaw. We did each get a roll as well but they were both so hard they were inedible. This could have all been forgiven had I not also ended up sick from the food. I spent half of our time at the Grand Ole Opry in the restroom and missed the act I was act I was most looking forward to seeing. Long story short, poor service, okay food but terrible portions for the price and it made me ill. Avoid it.
