I really like the atmosphere here. It’s comfortable and reflects a lot of local flair. Having gluten free desserts and snacks from Vegan Vee’s was wonderful of them, and all the food was really good. The only reason I gave it a 3.5 was because the portion sizes were really small for the prices paid and because the menu options were pretty limited food-wise. All in all, however, it’s a great spot for meetings, friendly catch-ups, and homework hang sessions.

Great find. When a coffee shop has a hip atmosphere (think pillow pit) and vegan gluten-free muffins, there’s a good chance the staff is going to be a little snooty. Not so at Atmalogy. The young man who helped us gave thoughtful descriptions of the unique drinks (golden milk is what I ordered), offered to look up where the beans were grown and was refreshingly unpretentious. Many options for seating–a swinging chair, tables in the quiet back, benches in the sunny front, very nice experience.09 Apr, 2015Golden Milk. Warm, frothy milk with turmeric and honey. Tastes like a holiday treat.

Bad baristas/Unfriendly Owner/Good muffins. So far most of the drinks I’ve had there has been filled with grounds. There were two girls (Roberta and Katie) there that had made me drinks that were good and didn’t have a lot of grounds, but the others have been very poor. The baked goods are delicious, but they are not made there. Most of it is from a local vegan bakery. The least friendly experience I have had was with a worker, that I later found out was the owner. Aside from ground filled lattes and ground filled coffees the big problem is a lack of seating where I can work with a laptop. It is convenient for me because it is close to Vanderbilt, but I’ve had much better drinks and friendlier experiences at other local coffee shops (which also have more study friendly seating).
