Better on paper than on the plate.. Looks pretty good when you walk in. The menu is pretty interesting, and sounds very tasty. Unfirtunately, it’s downhill from there. We ate on the patio, early afternoon, not terribly crowded. Ordered two different chicken sandwiches, the Cordon Bleu and the Buffalo chicken. They took a LONG time to come, and I suspect thet may have been ready a while before our waiter decided to bring them, because neither of them was remotely hot. After our waiter brought our food, nada. No visit, no refills, and had to chase him down to get our check. Too many choices in East Nashville to go here again, sorry.
Great place to go when you want poor service and average food at a lesbian bar.
Great Beer & All the Games. This is an excellent place to go watch any game you might be interested in, although it gets pretty crowded at those times. On Sundays they have 2 for 1 drafts, and have an excellent craft beer selection. All of that said, the food I have had is mediocre every time. Unless I hear of a specific menu item that I absolutely must try, I think I’ll just stick to liquid calories & trivia (Oh yeah, they have that too!).
If you like the east Nashville hipster bar scene, this is the place for you. While the menu is a bit more varied than your average bar menu, the portion size vs. price ratio is poor. The food is decent, but the service is horrible. I’m sure if you order alcohol they are more attentive. After all, drunk people tip better.
This is a great bar, I love there wings
Here’s the thing…. …I end up at BTE with friends nearly weekly, despite everything I mention below. I always have a good time, too.Pro: Lots of big TVs everywhere. Good place to watch a game. Con: Even for huge games the sound is muted and loud music plays instead. Hard to get into the game that way. Pro: Good beer selection. Con: Tendency for the bar to run out of popular beers; beers are not served cold; a particular beer can taste different each time you visit. Really, the Yazoo beers just don’t taste right. Pro: Decent service, even when it gets busy.Con: Not the best bar food. Frozen, salty stuff that gets microwaved and served to you. Pro: Across the street from I Dream of Weenie (Sub-Con: IDOW is open 4 hours/day or so. I just want a weenie!!)Pro: Pool, darts, monthly drawings and other fun stuff. Pro: The 2-for-1 beer deal happens often and it’s a very good deal. So there ya have it.
Good people. Good tunes. Good beer selection and deals. Good nachos. Good times!
