Big Al is an honest man running a great business. Stopped by and had breakfast with Big Al yesterday. I had the Big Al special, with eggs over easy, bacon, and so many fried potatoes that they were spilling over the side of my plate. Al was disappointed that I chose dry wheat toast instead of one of his biscuits. I enjoyed talking to him, learning about the path he took to be where he is now running his deli, and how much he loves what he is doing. Nothing against chain restaurants, but I have never felt as welcomed or appreciated by a business proprietor as I did in those few moments I spent with Big Al, sitting at the counter of his tiny deli. And the food was great! I will be back. And often!

Must visit!. Big Al’s is great! The food taste great and is very filling and cheap. It’s classic southern cooking and Al is super friendly.
A great place for breakfast in Saturday. And the meals on weekdays are very tasty and a great value.
I’m so torn on this one.. I really love going to Big Al’s, but I don’t always love eating there. Al and his family are always super friendly, the meat is always excellent, and it’s such a classic place. However, I have a hard time with the sides. Lots of carbs, lots of beans, and I would be in love with the mashed potatoes if they weren’t full of scallions. Even one steamed/sauteed veggie choice would make me go back again and again.I do still need to try the breakfast, which I hear is excellent.
Best value in the Metrocenter area! Their meat and 2 is great with lots of vegetables choices. Most of their vegetables are not seasoned with meat. But still very tasty. Their burgers are some of the best that I’ve had in Nashville.Give Al’s a try you won’t be disappointed.
Great food – Great prices. The best home style meal you can get at a reasonable price and a friendly atmosphere, don’t miss out.
