Love eating at chuys n their chips n salsa r to die for. On top of that they have tex mex blue cheese sauces too with the tips. Food is good ..ambience is colorful n bright..love the margarita on the rocks…my fav tex mex place for a good evening out
Soo good! I couldn’t decide between fish or shrimp on the baja tacos so the waitress did a combo. I wish I could eat them everyday for the next week or two. The rice and beans were just kind of there and I didn’t touch them, the tacos were all I needed. If I had to choose I think I would say the shrimp was better than the fish, and the jalapeo sauce was amazing.
Food was mediocre at best, I expected more after reading the reviews, but was quite disappointed. And I even ended up unable to actually finish what I ordered after biting into a chicken bone in the middle of my enchilada.
Chuy’s isn’t a chain, which puts it on the bottom rung to begin with, but this chain and this outlet in particular, deserve special note for how bad they are operating. Like most American-run Mexican restaurants, Chuy’s excels in bastardizing traditional Mexican dishes by melting cheddar and Monterey cheeses over most dishes, iceberg lettuce, and sauces that pretend to be spicy. Service at this establishment is a true problem. This included a ten minute wait to see the waiter for the first time, mistakes in orders that required fifteen minutes to correct, waiting for more than ten minutes to receive silverware after meals were initially delivered, and after all this, no apologies or bill adjustments.I’m generally quite good about avoiding these chains but got roped into this one. However, if you are even considering a meal here…DON’T!!! There are plenty of independent Mexican restaurants around the Vandy area. Do yourself a favor and try one of the before you bother dropping in on Chuy’s!!
My boyfriend and I came here because of it being close to Springhill suites. We were pretty impressed. He has the macho burrito and I had the Baja tacos. We left full and content!
Every time I have came here to eat I have been thoroughly content with it overall, would definitely recommend. Service has always been the best. Drinks not even being able to get half way empty without being filled, always courteous staff and going out of their way to make for an enjoyable experience. A great bonus was that I mentioned to the waiter that I’m a vegan and where most waitresses/waiters don’t take this into much consideration when I order, our waiter was offering me an off-the-menu vegan dip and entree. Was very pleased, especially for their low prices. Will definitely be visiting again.
Good cheap eats. Fresh ingredients. Friendly servers. They even made a Vegan platter for my sister on request. I recommend the steak fajitas and the chicken quesadillas. Guacamole is pretty good too.
