Food was great service was great my wife and daughter got the steak fajitas I had the chili releno was worth the visit will be back. We were seated within two minutes and it was the lunch rush.
Couldn’t get my Mexican usual, this isn’t another cookie cutter Mexican restaurant. Not going to say it’s much better or worse, but the usual 30 combinations weren’t on the menu. In part this is because the burritos are closer to what you’d find at Moe’s or Chipolte’s than what most Mexican restaurants have. Despite being large (larger than 2 burritos at similar restaurants), this burrito is meant to be eaten with a knife and fork, it’s covered in sauce. The flavor was good, lime or Mexican rice was available. The Mexican rice was about what you’d get elsewhere, with a few vegetables cooked in. You can order any of a half dozen salsas for a side. This is in addition to the initial salsa brought our with your chops. Compared to other salsas, the initial was watery with large chunks floating on the water, but the sauce itself flows right off the chip, serving only to keep the vegetables moist. The tea was good, perhaps slightly over sweet (ymmv), the art inside is a mix of silly and serious. The main mascot seems to be fries with musical instruments. There’s 3 giant frogs on the roof and a box of a half dozen near the entrance where you can buy t shirts with captions such as Juan Solo and a newborn’s onesie that reads I’m the result of too many margaritas at Chuy’s. The staff was friendly. Parking is (free) valet, if you want to tip and don’t have cash they have a machine to take your card. Worth a visit if you’re local.
Today was my first trip to Chuy’s – Nashville. All I can say is WOW! I loved the food, atmosphere, service and the prices!!!My experience was nothing but positive! I am amazed at the bad reviews! I went during lunch which I would assume would be one of their busiest times. We used valet service which was courteous and prompt. We were seated and waited on promptly. Waiter did an excellent job of explaining any questions we had about the food and making recommendations. We were served our food quickly. Food was hot and absolutely tasted the best. We did not have to wait on drink refills at any time. We were kept very supplied with the chips and 2 dips provided (both of these were excellent). We did not have to wait on the check.I tend to be very critical especially regarding service, but I have nothing bad to say about Chuy’s. It is now #1 on my Mexican food restaurant list.I went with a work group of 8, but will definitely be back with family and friends. Thanks Chuy’s for a great experience.
