Warning – surprise 15% surcharge added to bill. If you like Ticketmaster pricing you will love City Winery. Unlike every other establishment in Nashville they add a 15% LBTD tax to the wine/liquor bill in addition to the 9% sales tax, Most other places include it in their pricing, and City Winery’s prices are already on the high side, so two glasses of house wine was over $30 with tip. Unfortunate d because they have a nice facility and a good large music venue. Service was fine. Unfortunately the food was only average. Not bad, and maybe even better than most music venues, but nothing to make you want to go and pay the prices just for the dining.

Cold wine and dry food, but good response from managers. Reds on tap were served WAY too cold and some of the apps were overcooked. They also ran out of the wine that we ordered and brought out a more expensive bottle without telling us…but charged us for the more expensive one and the server wouldn’t reduce the price! They also charge $7 for valet, when almost every other place in Nashville is free. When I brought up the issue of dry food and the wine to the manager, they were very apologetic and responded appropriately by offering to refund the problematic items. This was a good response for a new place from a customer service standpoint. This place could eventually be good overall, but they need to pay more attention to detail and fix a few things.
