DICK’S LAST RESORT & THE JOE SAVAGE EXPERIENCE. Dick’s Last Resort is a unique club/restaurant on 2nd Ave in Downtown Nashville. My first appearance there will be Fri & Sat, July 20 & 21; the band is absolutely smokin and I have added many new hi energy party songs. If you need a break and want to have some fun, make this a happening and tell all your friends.
Go for the entertainment, skip the food!!!
More for fun experience rather than food.. I was excited to try Dick’s because I saw on their menu, Alligator! Right when you walk in, you’re greeted with smart aleck remarks and a bit of attitude. The group I went with was well prepared, and doesn’t mind a little sarcasm. Our waiter, I believe his name was Eric, gave us some good laughs and treated us like crap. Which was expected, but he knew it was our first time, and definitely did his job, but offered some good conversation. Also, he still gave us good service aside from having to be a jerk. Lol. We never saw the bottom of our cups for sure. He also gave my entire table a hat, which we all cracked up about since each of our hats had a sexual aspect to go along with it.There was also a live band which was great. We had the best table, right in front of the band. It felt like a big ol’ party since we were all able to interact with the band and other tables. There were a few times, people would muster up the courage and dance to the band. It was a cute old group, which I was not that much into. Wished it were more contemporary.The food, I was not too impressed. I ordered the crab cakes. The vegetables were terribly bland. And the crab cakes were not the quality I expected them to be. I barely ate half of my food, and did not even want to bring it with me. That’s how much I did not like my food. On the other hand, everyone else in my party ordered chicken or ribs. Which they said they enjoyed. So, maybe just stay away from the crab cakes. But do order the alligator bites! Aside from it being overpriced, I enjoyed them. For the experience, I really enjoyed the restaurant. The atmosphere was great, and I felt like everyone had a good attitude about it. Maybe I would go for the bar, rather than the food. If you’re not in the mood or you don’t have a thick skin, this place isn’t for you.
Awful service and bad food. We wandered into Dick’s and right away noticed that their sarcasm first attitdue wasn’t cute – it was just down right rude. I get the concept, but there is a big difference between teasing customers and throwing their food on the table. The potatos were good but the rest of my meal was bad. The vegetables were thawed frozen veggies and were still cold. Bad food. Bad service.
