Not so good experience!. After being at the restaurant for an hour and a half, the group that I came with was asked to leave. This was my first time visiting the restaurant and it will be my last.
Paying Customer KICKED out because 4 people were waiting to be seated.. I came to Five Points Cocina Mexicana to celebrate my birthday with a group of coworkers. Our waiter asked us to leave because they were getting busy and had customers waiting. The manager on duty stated this was not normal policy, but only was willing to refund our tips. What a horrible birthday celebration dinner.
Good Carnitas! Definitely ask for the hot salsa. Homemade corn tortillas are a treat!
Hawaiian Fajitas, Five Points Burrito, Molcajete Del Mar. The pineapple in the fajitas was such a wonderful addition, it was so good I have forced myself to order different items each time I visit, because I would be perfectly happy to always order this entree. Wow! the Five Points Burrito was amazing! The hot sauce they put on the top is wonderful, but watch out the heat in the sauce will sneak up on you in a hurry. Another item I will buy again once I get through other items on the menu. My sister and I split the Molcajete del Mar, it is way too much for one person (but you can always take the leftovers for later or next day). The dish was fantastic. You have several selections to make when ordering this dish, we opted for the poblano peppers and the traditional sauce (other option was a spicy hot sauce). We couldn’t have been happier with the meal. How authentic it is, I don’t know, but what I do know is that it was all delicious, and I look forward to my next visit.
Best Mexican place on the East side. I always have prompt, friendly service when my family goes to Five Points Cocina. They have delicious mexican food, with a few unique items on the menu. One of our favorites- and inexpensive to boot!
Thumbs up. Cold beer, great food, and friendly service…what more could you ask for?! I’ll definitely be back!
Don’t Bother; Terrible Food. The empty atmosphere in such a popular part of town should have been my first clue to walk out, the extensive menu should have been my second. Food was awful, everything was from a can and bland. Nothing fresh. Ordered a burrito and the cheese inside was congealed and cold. I am leaving this review since there are so few to warn people. Do Not Bother.
