I have visited a number of flying saucers, and this is one of the nicer ones. I can’t speak to the food, but the ambiance is great and the bar tenders knowledgeable.
Chatty servers ignore waiting customers.. My boyfriend and I showed up to the Flying Saucer just after 5pm on a Saturday evening. The servers were more interested in standing around at the bar chatting than waiting on tables. My boyfriend’s drink came in a reasonable amount of time, while I sat waiting, drink-less for over THIRTY MINUTES with no one coming back to our table. We had planned on ordering dinner, but were forced to go elsewhere. What kind of bar or restaurant lets someone sit without ANYTHING to drink in front of them? Clearly, these girls don’t care about their jobs, or getting tips.
I LIKE this place but whoever is hiring their servers is a poor judge of competence. I walked in today, knowing exactly what I wanted from the menu and had to leave, without even having placed my food order, because I only put an HOUR’S worth of quarters in the parking meter. Server would rather talk to coworkers than work.
Great ambience. Poor service.
An awesome brew selection.. The food was typical pub fare, but the room and atmosphere made it worth the effort. Great service and hospitality.
I just had fries to accompany a couple of beers – friendly service, great range of beers, I went to the Memphis branch last week which was also good. A decent downtown spot
