My first visit but not my last! What a great variety of tasty food! Only the hot & sour soup was under par. I found everything I ate to be hot (temperature) and delicious, especially all the chicken offerings. I was delighted with the egg rolls and fried wontons. The meat & veggie entrees were wonderful. I love being able to choose from a variety of veggie-only options. Table service very good, too; my waitress kept my water glass filled. She was young and spoke very little English. The dining area was spacious and comfortable, and quiet. there were four or five tables occupied during my visit. One of the cooks was constantly bringing out freshly cooked food. I enjoyed the usual little, frosted cakes and ice cream for dessert. I compare this place favorably with (though a notch above)China Buffet on Charlotte in W Nashville, though C Buffet has the best hot & sour soup. It’s a little higher priced but I agree that Golden Coast is a very good value. I will return. Soon!
I dont know about three years ago according to the reviews but I thought this place was good. I have never seen so many chinese people at a chinese restaurant (not trying to be racist) So I dont know if its really all that authentic but if there are this many people it must be. Other chinese places I have eaten has one or two foods that were the best but this place has a good amount of good food.
Find another Chinese buffet. My friend and I were craving some chinese buffet at 2:00 on a saturday so I suggested this place based on the rating I saw on here. I figured worst case, it would be like an average suburban buffet. Immediately upon walking in the door I was hit by a strong mildew smell which reminded me of the house I helped clean up after the floods. We talked about leaving but we were really hungry so we decided to stay. The selection wasn’t bad, it did appear to have something resembling authentic chinese dishes however everything had been sitting for a while and nothing was refreshed the whole time we were there. The worst part was the white rice. How do you mess up white rice? it was burnt and old. At least they could have refreshed that. Everything else was average at best. It was overpriced considering. I can’t for the life of me figure out how this place has such a high rating, unless all the good ratings are from chicken feet aficionados. The best part of the meal was probably the fortune cookies. I’d pass on this place.
Weekend brunch. The weekend brunch is traditional Chinese. Only one I know of in Nashville and really good and affordable.
