A dive, to be sure but a very good one. I seek out these places all over the country. I had patty melt with hash browns and coffee. 7 bucks. Add catsup and hot sauce. Good juke box and good food. Dive bar next door is also A plus. Go!
Great place to catch lunch downtown. Good food and fast service. I usually get the cesar salad with chicken. Very quiet compared to other busy lunch options.
Simple and perfect.. I love any place where I get to hear those three little words: All Day BreakfastWell, here they mean all night and part of the day, but still. What a great little diner! I brought an out-of-town friend here and our experience was wonderful. Friendly, prompt service and a sort of family establishment feel. My eggs were cooked exactly as I ordered them, the sausage was average but good, but the real star on the plate was the home-fried potatoes. They were crispy and just this side of too done, just the way I love them. The special came with biscuits and gravy, too, which were nice but I couldn’t finish them.My friend had french toast and loved it. I tried a bite and was impressed by how light and not overly sweet they were. I’d definitely order them myself in the future.Adding this to my list of places to have brunch, on those days when you don’t feel like dressing up or doing anything too fancy. I’m sure the vibe is different late at night, but I’d like to try that, too. Those burgers really did look good.
Give it a chance, you won’t be disappointed .. I wasn’t impressed with the outward appearance of the restaurant but decided to give the food a chance, (although I don’t know what I was expecting-it was a diner) and I’m glad I did. I ordered a plain southern fried chicken sandwich and my fiance ordered a patty melt, which was recommended by our waitress. Both sandwiches were served literally steaming hot and very quickly to us. Both sandwiches were so good, we were stealing bites off each other’s plates! I strongly recommend the patty melt. To make it even better, we paid less than $12.00 for the meal! Sit down style food with cheaper than dollar menu prices. Perfect for stopping by after a long walk on Broadway.20 Sep, 2014Low price and tastes very nice. When I saw the cafe I was unimpressed with the outward appearance of the building but gave the food a shot and I’m glad I did! I had a southern fried chicken sandwich and my fiance had the patty melt, which I was stealing bites of. Both sandwiches were great. We ate for under $12.00! I strongly recommend either of the aforementioned sandwiches.
Take cash. Wasn’t all that great. Orders French toast and it was soggy….husband ordered eggs over medium and super runny. Just not what I thought it would be. Won’t be going back…..
Great Greasy Spoon Breakfast. Excellent breakfast. Friendly service. Hashbrowns were excellent. Cash only, so be prepared.
Busy. (Always a good sign). Had the special number 1 and it was pretty good. I love diners and this one delivered.
