Quick summary: great food, absolutely horrible service. We dined at Salsa with a party of 12 at 7:30 on a Saturday evening. At 7:20 they called to ask if we were still coming, which I thought was odd. We arrived and were seated promptly. Ordered drinks and they weren’t really quick but with a large group, I know it can be tricky so not a big deal. We had to ask if our waiter could take our order. We waited 65 minutes for three appetizers. Two people actually ordered an app as well but after 45ish minutes the waiter came to tell one person that they were out of their chosen app. Didn’t tell the other person though. Our food finally came out and half the dishes were missing the sauce they were supposed to come with. We had to flag our waiter down because he didn’t come back to check up. Then it took another ten minutes for them to bring that sauce. The food was absolutely amazing!! Ropa vieja was seasoned perfectly. So we also happened to be dining on an evening they had live music. The band was great, very talented. So loud though that I left with a headache. The music was part of a fundraiser for hurricane relief in Puerto Rico so that was neat. At one point they were reading letters (I think?) and the staff asked us to stop talking while they did that. It was extremely odd. We basically felt very unwelcome the entire time like we had crashed a private party. If you don’t want a large table, fine, but don’t take the reservation and then provide subpar service. Overall we were there over three hours and 90+ minutes of that was waiting for our food and trying to get a waiters attention so we could get drinks. Also they included automatic gratuity on our bills which I was very unhappy about because that policy wasn’t listed anywhere. As good as the food was, I would not go there again or recommend it to anyone.

Very polite service, owner was our server and he was helpful in answering any questions about the menu. Went for a late lunch, the atmosphere was authentic and smelled amazing the minute we walked in. We split the Trip through Puerto Rico dish that included Ropa Vieja, Carne Frita and Pernil with Tostones and Mofongo de Yuca. A great portion for two people. The meats were super tender, fresh and flavorful. The Tostones and Mofongo were perfectly salted and fried. We finished off our meal with the delicious Tres Leches cake. We could not have asked for a more delicious meal!! I would recommend it to anyone!

Good food, great service. This is a Puerto Rican place, so not spicy Caribbean like other islands. If you like mofongo and yucca, this is your place! Excellent service.

Not for me.. There were 4 us for lunch. The Pernill had 5 huge chunks of fatty pig that didnt smell fresh or taste good, so I sent it back for a steak sand. Grouper was not cooked. The tuna was gray & I wouldn’t taste it. Skirt steak dish w/ cold & hard tostones was not worth $10. Fortunately, the pork was taken off the bill. All we had were sodas. $100 total. We ordered from the dinner menu. The server was impeccable. I wish it were better. Nice environment, though.
