I had the pleasure of sitting next to the owner, who is very dynamic. They bake their own bread, make their own pasta, grow their own vegetables and herbs. Everything was perfectly made. Pasta al dente… Shrimp not over cooked ETC

This is a little bit of a weird review. From the outside I couldn’t tell if it was going to be nice inside or not. When you get inside the waiting area is like a hallway segregated from the rest of the restaurant. When we got there there was 1 party waiting, we had a reservation. After we got there two other parties arrived, one was turned away, the host said they were only taking reservation people, they were all booked, the other party that arrived AFTER use had a reservation at the exact same time as us (I heard them tell the host 7:30 reservation). We were a party of four, they were a party of two. The host told us they were swamped and were working on tables for us but the kitchen was backed up and it might be an extra 30 to 40 minutes for our food. The party that arrived after us was seated first, I thought that odd, but maybe it was a two top. Okay. Then when it was our turn we get back to the seating area…. they sat the party of two at a four top we could have had. The host made a deadly sin in the restaurant business to show deference to another party so obviously. I was ready to hate this place. Also, looking around, tables were dirty, not bussed, and empty. They had a restaurant full of empty tables and were turning people away? The problem wasn’t tables, it was a lack of bussing staff. I’ve see restaurants like this before, and I was girding myself for a bad experience. Then we get this waiter, an older guy, maybe 50 or so, and he is one of the most friendly, attentive, affable waiters I’ve ever had anywhere. He is great, but I still figure out food will be long coming, but no, calamari comes out in 2 or 3 minutes. Minutes. The rest of the food was equally fast. And they gave the kids free chocolate cake just because (pretty good too). The food was excellent, caesar salad was great, the ravioli I would especially recommend. I also had the Pollo Sole Mio (I figured they named the place after it) and the chicken was good… the sauce though I think was a vodka based sauce (they have a ton of different homemade sauces on the menu) and I would have preferred it with their more standard marinara like what came with the ravioli. It just wasn’t to my taste. So the situation was, I think, Taylor Swift was in town a block away, everyone hit the place right before the concert and they got slammed, when we got there they had cleared out and were catching up some.Food B, Waitstaff A, Host D-I had a restaurant once not sit us because the kitchen was backed up. This is stupid, no one likes waiting in a waiting area, let us sit at a table with bread and water. I don’t know if that is why the host took so long to seat us on this visit or not, but it is something I just wanted to mention. If you need to hire more bussers, hire more bussers. The place wasn’t perfect, but on balance the good beat the bad.

Sounded delicious however I was sorely disappointed when it arrived. It looked nothing like this picture which is a much better representation of the menu description. I found exactly one olive and two capers. The noodles were mushy and overdone with maybe a teaspoon of sauce in the entire dish. Everything else was great but having such a poor main course was a big letdown. Will not order this if we go back.
