We came to an empty restaurant expecting good service and were blown away by the incompetence. Not only did we have to walk up to hostess station to clear off our own table and get our own menus but when we finally were served it was a disaster. After waiting 45 minutes for our appetizer, our entrees came and the server, clearly over worked, forgot our appetizers. Although she was incredibly kind and apologetic, giving us free drinks, it’s a testament to the poor management that South has come to be known for. Our food was abysmal. I ordered a burger medium and it was well-done 10 minutes before it was even plated. The only reason I give them 2 stars is because of our server’s hard work and positive attitude. If I were South’s management, I’d be utterly embarrassed to welcome people into this restaurant.

Then there’s the service…horrible doesn’t begin to describe it…our server, who we asked to get our checks 20 min ago, is still MIA. When we do see her she’s constantly trying to push a beer on me that she accidentally opened and we didn’t order. Sorry but I’m not paying for a beer opened over half and hour ago and won’t be giving south any of my money again

It is in within walking distance of the hotels nearby.My wife had shrimp po boy, which she says was adequate.I enjoyed the Jackson burger with fries. The homemade pimento cheese was on this burger, but unfortunately I thought was a bit too thin, and really didn’t add anything that I noticed.Ambiance was decent, although you really have to climb into the booths. Tall metal chairs were used at the tables. The recorded music being played was quite enjoyable. No surprises there, it’s Nashville!
