We will be back—great food!. Went here with my wife last night for the 1st time. We had a Groupon or else I would have never heard of it—I live in Brentwood. Anyway, very small quaint place, but had heard it was good & also is for a good cause. My wife ordered the fish tacos & I got the BBQ sandwich, and both were simply outstanding—the fish tacos were better than any I’ve ever gotten for under $10. The service was perfect as well—just a great experience. Also, did you know you can bring wine in & they don’t even charge a corking fee? Highly recommended!
Least favorite restaurant in Nashville. Took my gf here about 45 min before closing time on a Sat. Aside from horrible service and the AC being turned off by the owner, we finally got our cold and old food. I ordered a pork BBQ potato and it tasted like 4-day old, room temperature meat on a chalk-dry potato. Of course there was no BBQ sauce. They scooted us out and the next morning I woke up with food poising.
This place is phenomenal!!!. I was visiting Nashville and came across this place on ubanspoon. The food was absolutely great!!! I had the spinach dip, veggie burger, baked fries and the coconut chocalte pound cake. Everything was outstanding! The service was top notch and it’s a nice atmosphere if you choose to dine in. Take out has great containers to keep your food warm and in place. I highly recommend The Cookery and will definitely be back the next time I’m in Nashville!
Awesome food with an amazing mission!. We ate here this past weekend while passing through Nashville, and happened to walk in at the right moment to meet the head chef and hear the story behind this restaurant. If you’re a local and you haven’t eaten here yet, run, don’t walk. Not only will you enjoy a delicious meal, but you can help support homeless men in your area at the same time. Chef Swayn leads an amazing program which houses, cares for, provides medical treatment to, and trains homeless men in culinary skills. And I’m not talking flipping burgers – these guys are serving up amazing food and flavors. You can almost taste the passion behind this restaurant in every bite. We ordered the Moroccan Chicken Salad and Australian Meat Pie, along with a glass of Fruit Tea. Everything was delicious and fresh! The meat pie was like eating the most tender and well seasoned beef stew, in between two soft and flaky pie crusts – you cannot go wrong with this menu item. It’s the only place I’ve eaten in Nashville, and I would forfeit trying something new to eat here again one day.
Just. Go. In! And try a variety of items. Everything we had was delicious and pleased a variety of tastes. Takeout survived the ride home (no styrofoam!) so pop in and grab some yummy food to go or eat it there. Really cute inside! Now I’m craving that crazy veggie baked potato…
The Cookery is now one of my favorite restaurants! When you go make sure to try the down under wonder burger
Loved this place! Such great food with an even better message and mission! Highly recommended!
