I must write a review for my favorite Mexican Restaurant in Louisville. I must also add that while living in Tennessee, Texas, Georgia, and Ohio. I don’t recall one that had All of the following: 1. Great people and quick attentive service. 2. Consistently hot food that’s always seasoned well 3. Fantastic Margaritas (Try their Top Self with Don Julio)4. Clean, clean, clean. 5. An owner who is working harder than his staff I know what some of you may be thinking. Mexican restaurants are basically all the same right? They all serve chips & salsa, they all have fajitas, and they all have cheese dip, and they all have a house margarita. The only difference here is that at El Toro it’s all very very good. My only knock is this. They have quality chips but there’s better. Most Mexican restaurants serve Ole brand chips. I wish El Toro did too. Other than that minor chip preference I can’t think of anything else I would change…. other than including top shelf margaritas on their two for one all day special!!! Doubt that’s happening anytime soon. One can dream.
One of the most authentic Mexican restaurants in Louisville (that is hard to do)! This place has special twists in Mexican cuisine classics that will have you coming back for more. The cheese enchiladas are cooked perfectly with high quality ingredients–a must try.

Tasty Mexican Food. While we have several favorites in Louisville, we tried this restaurant after a friend commented on how good it was when she has eaten here. El Toro does the standard Mexican well such as chimichangas and burritos. I had mexican-style steak and chicken tacos in corn tortillas. They were very tasty served up with cilantro, onion and lime. My wife had Pollo Loco and the chicken, cheese and rice dish was delicious. We all had some type of dessert such as sopapillas or deep fried bananas, and they were a tasty end to our meal. We will definitely add El Toro to our list of local favorites.
Food was great. Our waitress was quick with service until it was time to get our check. We had to wait 15 minutes. Outside of that I was impressed, I will be back as long as I don’t get the same waitress.
Solid, above average Mexican food! We only eat here now for Mexican! Good chips and not too thick! Good salsa! Great cheese dip! Good Guac! Clean! Large place! And the very best staff in town no questions asked!! My highest recommendations!!
