Keep in mind that this is a chain restaurant, for some reason with Abuelos it’s easy to forget that it is. I find the food to be average at best. The best thing about this place for us is the bar area. We enjoy taking our meals there instead of in the dining room areas, just has a better vibe. If you’re in Turkey Creek and want Mexican food then this place is okay. But there are better Mexican places a short drive away.

What happened?!??. Been here multiple times and always had good service and food. Tonite for some reason me and my fianc were brought completely different entrees than what we ordered. Asked for more chips with none brought. And no offer to fix the issues we raised. Will not be back and will do everything I can do discredit this restaurant. Definitely won’t be back but shoulda realized the issues whenever I arrived at peak time on a Saturday night and there were multiple open tables.

First time to eat at an Abuelo’s and was very happy with the complete dinning experience. The facility was very clean, service was quick and efficient, and the food very tasty. We ordered off the lunch menu and enjoyed our order. IT WAS FRESHLY MADE. We travel the USA in our motor coach and have had good food and bad food across our great country. This was really good.

Me and my boyfriend went there and thought it was poor at best. Cheese dip- tastes like poo. Grilled chicken- tasted like rubber. Enchiladas- taste gritty poo. The agave margarita was good though. Overall experience…. Ehhhhh bad.

LOVE IT!!!! Although I’m not big on Mexican food, I instantly fell in love with the wonderful atmosphere, the excellent service, and, of course, the delicious food! Our server said she was new but gave us service that did not reflect that in the least. The best part of the meal was the dessert..the Tres Leche cake! If u only go to Abuelos once, u HAVE to try it! I would recommend this restaurant to anyone!

Decent Food, Clean Restaurant. I like Abuelos. Why? Because its not like all the other boring Mexican restaurants we see all over Knoxville. Yes, it offers typical microwave Mexican fare, but in a fancier package. If you compare different Mexican restaurants in Knoxville, most offer identical items. They even taste identical!! So the expression If youve tried one, youve tried them all applies, except for Abuelos. I like Abuelos because it isnt trying to be a Mexican restaurant, rather a restaurant that serves Mexican food. And yes, there is a difference. It affects everything from food to service to atmosphere. The food is somewhat better than Pelanchos or Soccer Taco, but the selection is much better, mainly because its different. However, I found Abuelos desert menu lacking. Thank goodness Baskin Robins is up the street. The service is excellent. We will go several months without dining at Abuelos, but our servers remember our drink orders and favorite appetizers and bring them promptly out without us having to order. Impressive. The restaurant is always clean. During rush hour the restrooms might get a little messy, but they dont stay that way long.I definitely recommend Abuelos. The food is what you would expect from a Mexican restaurant, but everything else is outstanding.
