Able to stop at this location this week for lunch. Had been wanting some Q for a day or two so stopped in.Pretty brisk lunch biz and I got here right at 12. already quite a few folks inside. Clean place and bathroom was as well. Decided to go with the pulled pork sandwich (pictured) and sweet chips. Asked if I could have it on toast rather than a bun. No issue. Also got a scoop of slaw on top. Sandwich / meat was a very nice portion. Piled high and around the toast. The meat was flavorful and had a nice smoke flavor. A true pulled product and not a mix of chopped and pulled. Some amount of bark and fat that just make BBQ good. The slaw was not a sour slaw but a more basic prep. It was good without being runny nd make the sandwich hard to eat. Good sauce mixs with Carolina (mustard) and Kentucky were my favs. The sweet potato chips were a nice touch. Just enough covering to let you know but not so much that it was hard to eat.Worth a few more stops in the future.
1/9/2016 – My first visit to Archer’s BBQ (I’d reviewed another BBQ joint near the campus and was invited to try Archer’s by the owner, so here I am).The restaurant was clean and the employees seemed knowledgeable about the menu. I ordered the pulled pork plate with beans and cole slaw. The pulled pork – some of the meat was sinewy as barbecue should be, but some was mushy (really disappointed). The slaw and beans were good. The sweet iced tea and most of the sauces were excellent.I’ll give it one more try – I hope the barbecue gets better!
Best BBQ in Knoxville.. BBQ in knoxville isn’t a dead end anymore. You actually have somewhere enjoyable to go! Not only is the food awesome, but the guys on the make line really know their stuff. Great atmosphere and very clean. If you haven’t gone yet go tonight! !!20 Aug, 2014Four Pack. Pulled pork (or chicken) with any of the delicious sauces. Sides of baked beans and potato salad or creamed corn. 🙂
So glad you’re back in West Knoxville, Archer’s!. We are so happy to welcome Archer’s BBQ back to West Knoxville, just a few minutes drive up the road from our house. The location is great – clean and wonderfully decorated. The food, as always, is tremendous. I had the pulled pork sandwich. It is so tender and tasty. The selection of sauces will tempt any taste. A Memphian, I always go for the Memphis sauce; my wife prefers the KC. In the group I was with on Tuesday night, folks had a variety of the other sauces from original to Carolina and raved about them. The iced tea was perfectly brewed and the sides were great. This evening, I had the green beans which were zesty and flavory. My wife had the slaw and she said it was crisp and tart. Very fresh! Another member of our party sampled the potato salad and loved it. The crew at Archer’s is always friendly and efficient. All around, a wonderful experience – as always. A+++!
I went to this location after it first opened. It was very good, and I enjoyed it as always. It was as good as the other locations. I have been to the Karns and Kingston Pike locations. I stayed and ate there and talked to the two people working there while I ate. It was a very enjoyable meal. I got the chicken plate, with beans and the loaded potato salad. I use the Memphis sauce. The employees are always very nice, the place is clean, and it has a very good atmosphere. I love that it is so close to Pelissippi and tome. I will go back for sure!
Thank you for some great BBQ in W Knox!. I have been loving the rIbs, pulled pork sammich, and homemade side items for a few years and have happily made the drive to Bearden, Karns, and N Knox but now it’s in my backyard! Hootie Hoo!Awesome sauces including the delicously unique Moonshine Vinegar!O yeah and the pulled pork sandwich has more pork than the federal budget! Thanks Archer!
