Consistently good. This is one of the more consistent Mexican restaraunts in all of Knoxville. I love the salsa here, very hearty and not overly spicy. Arroz con pollo is the bomb! Beleive it. They are not stingy with the queso at this place either, another noticeable attribute of the dishes that they prepare here. When you order an entree here it is as good as it was the last time and that goes a long way in an industry with high turnover on average.
Authentic Mexican Food. Absolutely authentic mexican food. Great tacos, enchiladas, rice, and refried beans. I’ll be back to try the tamales and I feel very confident they will be excellent. The GIANT burrito my friend ate was outstanding and the HOT sauce provided exploded with flavor (he allowed me to try his). Place to be in Knoxville if you want Mexican food.
Love it. We LOVE El Mezcal. Dinner is genuinely Mexican, and ours, each time, has been delicious. Friendly crew, courteous.
Awful awful service!! I have never been more insulted in my life. The customer is never right and they won’t even listen to a complaint and charge you for things you didn’t even order because they couldn’t understand you. The food was not even that great. I am never going back there.
I have been here two times now and both times we have had to ask for refills… after about 30 minutes of waiting for a refill. The waiters never come by the tables. And they put their tortilla chips in trash cans and pour them into the bin that keeps them warm and then serve them! I got a photo! I am NEVER eating here again.
Great food fast even better service. Went there on a Tuesday evening. What service. The drink order was taken as they sat me at the table, and before i took my coat off, the drinks were delivered. The food was delivered at near record speed. The food was very good. Traditional rice and beans, but the beef in my dish was well flavored and the shell was not greasy. Very good food. Great find…
Went here for New Years Eve with my in-laws. Couldn’t have made a better choice. Great chips and salsas ( try the verde). The tamales were outstanding, refried beans were fresh made, rellenos were huge. Staff was very friendly and attentive.
